Moussa Niakhaté, a central defender with a rich footballing pedigree, is on the brink of making a triumphant return to France. After stints at clubs like Metz and Valenciennes, the Senegalese international is in talks to join the prestigious Olympique Lyonnais. Targeted by David Friio, the Sporting Director of the Gones, Niakhaté arrived in Lyon on Thursday evening. Prior to signing his contract, he is required to undergo the customary medical examination. If the deal goes through, the 28-year-old player will become the most expensive signing in the history of OL under the Textor era, with a reported transfer fee of 31 million euros. This substantial sum will go to Nottingham Forest, Niakhaté’s current club.
