Romanian Mario Maranica, 59, has been appointed as the new head coach of the Liberia national team. He has signed a two-year contract and will make his debut on the Liberian bench in the preliminary round of the qualifying matches for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations against Djibouti in March. He replaces Ansu Keita. Maranica previously coached Malawi between 2021 and April 2023, leading them to qualification for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
