Krépin Diatta’s comments following Senegal’s elimination from the CAN 2023 by Ivory Coast have not gone unnoticed. Diatta accused the officials of corruption, criticizing the biased refereeing in favor of the host country, according to the Journal de Dakar. After conducting an investigation, the Disciplinary Commission of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has taken action. Diatta, the right back for the Lions, has been handed a four-match suspension, with two matches being suspended, and fined $20,000 (approximately 19,000 euros), which he will have to pay jointly with the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), as reported by the Senegalese media outlet.
