In a press conference on Wednesday, March 6, Jurgen Klopp addressed the ongoing conflict between Liverpool and Egypt regarding Mohamed Salah. The German manager stated that it is not his decision to make, but highlighted the need to handle the Egyptian attacker carefully.
« These two matches with Egypt are not for me to decide, » he said. « Mohamed Salah has only had two days of training with the team. In a different situation (without injury concerns), injured players would not join the team so quickly after just two days of training. However, in the current circumstances, it is understandable. We need to consider what we can provide for them and to what extent we can use them, » Klopp explained.
Liverpool wants to keep Salah during the international break, but the Egyptian Football Federation has a different stance. The newly appointed national team coach intends to call up Salah for the upcoming fixtures. Salah will undergo a medical assessment by the national team doctor once he joins the squad.
