Hellen Obiri, the 2023 champion, will be competing in the Boston Marathon for the second consecutive year on April 15th. The former world champion in the 5000m will attempt to retain her title.
« I am thrilled to return to the 2024 Boston Marathon and try to defend my title, » said Obiri, a two-time Olympic silver medalist. Boston is a historic race, and I would love to etch my name into its history on April 15th. Winning such a historic marathon with my family waiting at the finish line has been an incredible experience, » she added.
