Arouna Sangante, the captain of Le Havre, has received his first call-up to the Senegal national team. The announcement was made by Aliou Cissé on Friday, March 15. Speaking in a press conference before the upcoming league match against Clermont on Sunday, March 17, the young defender shared his thoughts on the call-up.
« This is a call-up that I have been waiting for. I hadn’t received it before, so I was a bit frustrated. But I knew I had to keep working, and I continued to do so. Now that I have finally been called up, the real challenge begins. I hope to give my best for this gathering and come back even stronger. There are some great players in the squad. The Senegal national team will play two friendly matches against Gabon on March 22 and Benin on March 26.
